Miami Bar Debuts New Summer Food & Cocktail Menu

The MiMo district’s favorite neighborhood bar, The Anderson– recently named one of Esquire’s Best Bars in America– is debuting a new food and cocktail menu with an 80s video game twist. The menu design captures the golden age of arcade games, remaining on-brand with the bar’s throwback theme that ties together cocktails, food, music, and programming.

The Anderson not only brings 80s vibes and elaborate drinks to the table, but with Chef Jimmy Lebron of 27 Restaurant & Bar at the helm, the new menu elevates the typical bar food experience. Guests can experience a variety of plates, including the Fried Rice that comes with coconut basmati, sweet plantains, and crab, pork, chicken or veggies, or those looking for a vegan-friendly option can go with the Choripan, made with Atlas vegan chorizo or Proper chorizo, chili-aioli and crispy onions served on a baguette. As Chef Jimmy focuses on the diversity of menu items, he stays true to his Miami roots with the Cuban Quesadilla with roasted pork, chihuahua cheese, ham, pickles, and mustard. Ranging from $4-$14, the mouthwatering bar bites pair perfectly with the new craft cocktails.

The new innovative cocktails come from the creative mind of Dave Simmons, Bar Manager at The Anderson. The fresh-tasting cocktail Hey You Guys! features Beefeater Dry Gin and Aperol, shaken with lemon, pineapple, and a pink peppercorn reduction; while Jose’s Day Off will give your mouth a kick, with Ilegal Joven Mezcal and Olmeca Altos Tequila, shaken with lime, watermelon and Ancho Chile reduction. For a sweeter option, there’s the Ticket to Paradise, a crafty concoction of spice-infused with Don Q Cristal Rum and Chinola Liqueur, and swizzled with lime, mint, a passionfruit-vanilla reduction, and a Peychaud’s bitters float.

The Anderson officially opened in March 2016 inside Miami’s oldest bar, formerly Magnum Lounge. Brought to life by the team behind the popular Broken Shaker, Gabe Orta and Elad Zvi of Bar Lab, The Anderson Bar is poised to be a favorite locals neighborhood bar in Miami’s burgeoning MiMo District. Open Sunday through Wednesday from 5 PM – 2 AM and Thursday through Saturday from5PM – 4 AM. 709 NE 79th St, Miami, FL 33138
