Fooqs and Friends

Fooq’s is pleased to present ‘Fooq’s & Friends,’ a series of one-of-a-kind dinners that will host some of Miami’s most talented chefs. To kick off the series, Fooq’s will host Chef Alex Chang of Vagabond Restaurant & Bar for a néo-Bistrot style dinner on Sunday, November 22nd, 2015, with two seatings available either at 6:30 pm or 9:00 pm. The menu will feature dishes that take an eclectic approach to classic French cuisine, with 5 courses priced at $65 per person, and a $35 wine pairing option, hand-selected by owner and honorary Sommelier of the evening, David Foulquier. Chef Alex Chang of Vagabond Restaurant & Bar will feature several French bistro staples like guests have never seen before. The classic vegetable dish is revamped and reinvented in the Ember roasted carrots served with shaved foie, katsuobushi, and mamey. The plate is a cultural fusion of French-bistro classics with unexpected flavors found in the Japanese katsuobushi and mamey, a fruit familiar to Latin American and Caribbean fares. Equally intriguing is the Brassicas, served with smoked oysters, reduced whey and bone marrow. What initially drew owner David Foulquier to the néo-Bistrot concept was the accessibility factor. “Our pop-up will give guests a chance to experience the supreme value of high-end restaurants, but in the remote comfort of Fooq’s” says Foulquier. The néo-Bistrot movement inspires a league of finely trained chefs from around the world to strive for more than fame. Chefs behind the movement are encouraged to explore their culinary interests and merge an eclectic mix of flavors to create something new, expressive, and personal. A passionate gourmand and world-traveler himself, Foulquier has redefined comfort food in the Miami restaurant scene with his eclectic palette and sheer passion for food. Cultivating a zone of good-vibes-only, Foulquier knows a thing or two about good food and good times. The series will continue with a variation of menus and notable Chefs.

Fooq’s is located at 1035 N. Miami Ave. (Downtown Miami) next door to The Corner Bar. Reservations will be accepted for groups of six and more and can be made by calling 786.536.2749.

Fooq’s will be open for lunch at 12:00–3:30 pm daily and dinner 6:00–10:30 pm Friday – Saturday. Saturday will be exclusive for dinner. The parking lot is available next door to the restaurant and Metered street parking is also available.
