Luca Osteria’s Sister Restaurant Opens Fall 2026
Miami’s dining scene just got a major addition. Chef Giorgio Rapicavoli—the culinary force behind Eating House and the beloved Luca Osteria in Coral Gables—has announced the opening of Luca Trattoria, a new sister restaurant set to debut in North Beach this Fall 2026. For anyone who’s followed Rapicavoli’s career, this expansion feels like a natural next step for a chef who has long championed thoughtful, ingredient-driven Italian cooking.
Luca Osteria earned its reputation by keeping things honest: seasonal ingredients, carefully sourced produce, and a menu that respects Italian tradition without getting stuck in it. Luca Trattoria carries that same philosophy forward—while introducing subtle shifts that speak to its new home on Normandy Drive.
Luca Trattoria is designed as a true sister to the original, not a carbon copy. The kitchen will continue to serve a seasonally driven Italian menu built around thoughtfully sourced ingredients—the foundation that made Luca Osteria a local staple. But the new North Beach location brings with it a few meaningful updates.

The beverage program will launch with many of the fan-favorite cocktails from Luca Osteria, curated and managed by mixologist and bar manager Eddie Fuentes. Fuentes will continue developing the program as the restaurant settles into its new neighborhood, meaning the drink menu will grow and evolve rather than arriving fully formed. The wine selection takes a similarly dynamic approach: a more focused but diverse list, spotlighting European and Argentine producers alongside classic Italian bottles—a nod to South Florida’s cosmopolitan palate.
Aesthetically, Luca Trattoria stays true to the brand’s signature mid-century style. Warm wood furnishings, gold detailing, and an atmosphere that feels considered rather than overdone. It’s a room designed to make guests linger—over a second glass of Barolo, over dessert, over conversation.
Coral Gables and North Beach occupy very different corners of Miami’s identity. Coral Gables is polished and established; North Beach is quieter, more residential, and currently in the middle of its own cultural resurgence. Normandy Isles, where Luca Trattoria will be located at 933 Normandy Drive, has attracted a growing community of food-savvy locals looking for neighborhood restaurants that take the cooking seriously.

Rapicavoli’s decision to plant roots here signals confidence in the area—and gives North Beach residents a destination-worthy dining option without the drive south.
While a full menu hasn’t been released yet, Luca Trattoria’s approach mirrors what Luca Osteria does best: let the ingredients lead. Expect a rotating selection of dishes built around what’s in season, with Italian technique at the core. If the original location is any indication, guests can look forward to house-made pastas, thoughtfully composed secondi, and the kind of antipasti that make it hard to move on to the next course.
The menu will continue to evolve after opening, which is consistent with Rapicavoli’s broader cooking philosophy—stay curious, stay seasonal, and don’t let a menu get stale.
Luca Trattoria will be located at 933 Normandy Drive in North Beach in the former Las Vacas Gordas spot. For updates, visit lucamiami.com and follow @lucaosteria on Instagram.
