South Florida’s Culinary Community Unites for No Kid Hungry
Taste of the Nation returns on May 16, 2020
South Florida’s can’t-miss culinary event of the season returns to Ice Palace Studios on May 16. Chaired by Timon Balloo, Executive Chef, and Owner of Balloo, Cesar Zapata, Executive Chef, and Owner or Phuc Yea, Paula Dasilva, Executive Chef at The Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale, and Alex Kuk and Diego Ng, Executive Chefs and Owners of Temple Street Eatery, South Florida’s Taste of the Nation will bring together dozens of the area’s top culinary talents to support No Kid Hungry, a national campaign to end childhood hunger in America.
Guests can taste their way across South Florida’s culinary landscape, enjoying bite-size fare, craft cocktails, local brews, and delectable desserts – all served up by the city’s acclaimed tastemakers. In addition to the night’s curated culinary offerings, attendees can also look forward to live music, games, raffles a silent auction, and more. “One in seven children in America lives with hunger, including more than 1 in 5 kids in Florida, said Chef Chair, Timon Balloo. “I’m excited to team up with No Kid Hungry for a fun event that’s serious about connecting Florida’s kids to the food they need to succeed.”
“While No Kid Hungry is a national campaign that is ending childhood hunger across the country, 100% of event proceeds from South Florida’s Taste of the Nation will support our work to end childhood hunger here in Florida. We’re proud to partner with local organizations on No Kid Hungry Florida to accomplish this important work. Together, we are making sure every kid has access to three meals a day,” says Jessie Niewold, Director, Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry.
