To help endure the perpetual heat in Miami, you need to stop by the coolest ice cream shop, Serendipity Creamery. Located in Surfside, the colorful, family-owned shop is the brainchild of longtime Surfside resident, Jessica Levison. A local favorite, Serendipity Creamery boasts 24 delicious and eclectic flavors, such as toasted coconut, pear riesling sorbet, pistachio, breakfast cereal, lychee sorbet, pecan pie, lavender orange, and salted caramel. All ice cream and sorbets are homemade, as well as popular toppings, like marshmallows, cookie dough, and peanut butter cups.
For those who can’t get enough summer fun, enjoy a sweet treat at Serendipity and then explore Surfside, which is experiencing explosive growth and redevelopment. Some of our favorite summer activities in the area include: grabbing a bite at Josh’s Deli; strolling along scenic Harding Avenue, Surfside’s charming downtown district; touring Turtle Walk to view the public art display of 13 colorful sculptures created by local artists of the Florida loggerhead sea turtle – a beloved resident of the Surfside community; and sipping on cocktails at the rooftop Sky Bar at Grand Beach Hotel. Whether a resident or visitor staying in Surfside, kiddos and grown-ups alike can enjoy free access to the oceanfront community recreation center, or simply hang out by the beach. Whatsoever they choose, Surfside is the ideal location for a day trip or a staycation.
