Sunny’s at The Hall South Beach

Spike Mendelsohn’s very casual eatery Sunny’s at the Hall South Beach, is just that, a very low key spot in the heart of South Beach. Not pretentious at all, it’s almost impossible to link this eatery to a celebrity chef’s name. The atmosphere is very relaxing, the place is plain simple. But it is, in fact, all he said it was going to be, an inspiration from beach cultures experienced by Spike throughout his travels. For me personally was more like a soul searching experience. I’m sure those of you who have been in “Miami Beach” long enough can relate to this.  Menu items are small, simple and very affordable. My favorites were the Aloha Tacos – fried avocado, cabbage, pickled red onion, lime, cilantro crema and the Islamorada Ceviche – Florida snapper, aji Amarillo pepper, passion fruit, red onion, cilantro, citrus, plantanitos. This is the perfect place to stop by while shopping or hanging out in South Beach.

Brunch Time! Sunny’s at the Hall South Beach now offers brunch worth trying out. We are talking about toast plates including Nutella and banana jam, strawberry and vanilla, avocado, and roasted apple and blue cheese. More substantive? Consider the Jersey Shore sandwich with ham, cheese, and a sunny-side-up egg, or the brunch salad, which blends farro, beets, apple, baby kale, walnut, and goat cheese. And you must try the Chicken ‘n’ waffle and the Squeezed to Order Juices!

Sunny’s is located at The Hall South Beach: 1500 Collins Ave Miami Beach, FL 33139
