Basque-style Spanish tapas concept from celeb chef launches at Time Out Market Miami

Since opening, Time Out Market Miami has been a destination for locals and visitors seeking to experience the soul of Miami – an editorially curated array of concepts by bold-faced names as well as up-and-coming culinary stars – all under one roof in the heart of South Beach. From Chefs Cesar Zapata and Antonio Bachour to beloved brands such as Pho Mo, the Market truly has something for everyone. And now, one of the City’s most vanguard talents is ready to unveil one of the Market’s newest sensations – imaginative Basque cuisine by none other than Chef Aitor Garate Berasaluze.

Spanish-born and Michelin-trained, Chef Aitor is one of the city’s most provocative talents. Formerly the Head Chef at Leku, the Basque-inspired restaurant at the Rubell Museum, Chef Aitor is known for his innovative cooking style and elevated presentations. With LUR, he once again turns his sights on the Basque region of Spain where he and his talents hail from. The varied menu promises big flavors and a variety of temptations. The heart of it, naturally, is the extensive selection of tapas – all meant to be shared.

Highlights from the Tapas section of the a la carte menu include Strawberry Tomato Gazpacho ($7); Codfish Buñuelos ($6); Tortilla de Patatas ($12) not to mention a 5 Jotas Ibérico Charcuterie Platter with chorizo y fuet ($19). For something heartier, from the Mains: Grilled Octopus with crushed potatoes ($18); Angus Tenderloin Steak Sandwich ($19) and Arroz Caldoso de Bogavante, consisting of grilled Maine lobster with creamy Calasparra rice ($23). Guests can also add 10 grams of Petrossian Classic Ossetra Caviar to any plate for $15.

Exclusive eight-course dinners will take place on Friday evenings at 7:30 pm, beginning August 13th. The experience is hosted by Chef Aitor Garate Berasaluze and is priced starting at $65 per dinner (exclusive of tax and gratuity). The special menu will rotate every week and will include two welcome bites, three appetizers, two main dishes, a dessert, and an optional beverage pairing.
